SITFY to Take Place between 16-20 November

The 5th annual Sharm El Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth (SITFY) will take place between November 16-20 according to a statement issued by the festival's management.

It will be held under the auspices of Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem, South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda, and the director of the International Theater Authority Institution (ITI UNESCO) Mohamed Saif Al Afkham.

The forthcoming edition was supposed to kick off in April; it was postponed due to COVID-19 quarantine.

Abdel Dayem said that this exceptional new edition emphasizes the greatness of the Egyptian civilization and its arts especially it will take place in the city of peace, Sharm El Sheikh according to the statement.

She continued, currently, the Egyptian theatrical scene witnesses outstanding activity enhancing the Egyptian arts and culture position in the heart of the world.

Fouda expressed that Sharm El Sheikh is ready for receiving SITFY , its audience and guests.

Iconic theater actor and director Mohamed Sobhi who is the head of the festival's high committee said that organizing such a festival is a huge challenge; it supports Egyptian tourism and proves Egypt's safety.

Finally, Egyptian stage legend Samiha Ayoub who is the festival's Honorary President reflected the festival's capability of improvement through time. She also praised the youth's role in the development of the festival.

Ayoub continued, "SITFY's main theme is enhancing the youth's role in theater. The Festival also represents an evidence of Egypt's readiness for receiving tourists."
