President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has officially welcomed the early morning announcement of a ceasefire agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, hailing it as a breakthrough that brings hope to millions worldwide.
In a formal statement released today, the Egyptian leader expressed his profound relief, noting that the de-escalation is news that "undoubtedly gladdened the hearts of millions of peace-loving people across the globe."
President El-Sisi emphasized his hope that this positive development would serve as a foundation for a permanent settlement, ending regional hostilities and restoring the security necessary for "development, progress, and prosperity."
Unconditional Support for Arab Allies
While celebrating the diplomatic breakthrough, El-Sisi remained firm on Egypt’s regional commitments. He reaffirmed Egypt’s "full and unconditional support" for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, Jordan, and Iraq during this critical juncture.
The President sent a clear signal to international negotiators, stressing that any future permanent agreements must be inclusive.
"It is vital that any upcoming agreement takes into account the legitimate security concerns and requirements of our sister nations," El-Sisi stated.
A Tribute to Diplomacy
The Egyptian President praised the shift toward dialogue, specifically commending U.S. President Donald Trump’s role in the process. He lauded the decision to "listen to the voice of reason and uphold the values of humanity and peace."
As a key mediator in Middle Eastern affairs, Egypt is now calling on all parties to engage seriously in upcoming talks to ensure "peaceful coexistence" between the peoples of the region and the world.
Egypt’s Ongoing Role
Concluding his statement, El-Sisi vowed that Egypt—its leadership, government, and people—would remain a steadfast pillar of support for its neighbors. He pledged to continue exerting "every honest and sincere effort" to end conflicts and establish a just, comprehensive peace that extends beyond the region to the global stage.
