President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed at the Visegrad Summit that Egypt respects and loves its people, noting that Europe has to understand the unfolding developments in Egypt.

During the press conference of the Egypt-Visegrad Group Summit, President Sisi affirmed that Egypt did not give up on refugees, but rather integrated them into Egyptian society.

The President added that Egypt did not accept, from both an ethical and a humanitarian perspective, housing refugees in camps or letting them infiltrate illegally into Europe.

The President pointed out that Egypt seeks to progress across various fields in order to offer a decent life to citizens, referring to the Decent Life Initiative, which seeks to improve the lives of 60 million citizens in the Egyptian countryside.

Sisi headed to Hungary on Monday to take part in the Egypt-Visegrád Group conference. The V4 countries are Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia.

Upon his arrival in Budapest, the President was received by senior statesmen in Hungary and members of the Egyptian embassy in the Hungarian capital.
