President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asked Mohamed Yahya Zaki, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) to focus on investments that aim at localizing technology.
Sisi also called for possessing industrial capacity, providing job opportunities, as well as maximizing projects for the port and maritime services system, by integrating with the comprehensive development process nationwide, in a way that raises the classification of the Egyptian seaports on the global map for navigation and marine services.
Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and SCZone chairman reviewed the executive position of current and future projects in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady on Thursday.
Zaky presented the financial indicators regarding investment projects in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and the existing efforts to enhance the Authority's investment returns by communicating with foreign partners regarding the various industrial zones to be established in the zone.
The executive plan for the integrated East Port Said region, which includes East Port Said Port, as well as industrial and logistical zones and a multi-purpose terminal, was also reviewed, as well as the plan for the Suez Canal Economic Zone in cooperation with major international car companies to join the vehicle assembly complex to be set up in the industrial zone in East Port Said.
