President Abdel Fattah El Sisi urged on Friday some passersby, who greeted him, in Heliopolis to wear facemasks to curb the coronavirus spread.
"This came during Sisi's inspection tour to follow up development works at East Cairo axes in Nasr City district, as well as at Ezbet el Haggana, extending from the east of Nasr City to the Cairo-Suez Road," Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Sisi was briefed on the recent updates of road development projects, road axes, in addition to the new one linking Nasr City with the Ring Road, all the way through to the neighborhoods of New Cairo and Rehab City.
Sisi got acquainted with the development of Ezbet el Haggana, as part of the State’s policy to upgrade slums, provide care for their residents, and connect them to the main road axes via expanding a main axis to become an alternative to the narrow lanes that were previously used by citizens.

Rady highlighted the state’s efforts to raise the efficiency of all basic services and infrastructure in the region, paint the facades of buildings, and establish a modern parking lot for public transport vehicles and private cars; to facilitate the daily movement of citizens, especially after removing encroachments and providing new shops for street vendors.
In the same regard, thousands of citizens who lived in insecure and dangerous areas near high-voltage electric lines in Ezbet el Haggana have been transferred to a new city called Ahalina, where they can have access to all needs at their new residential units.

The president also inspected the network of new roads and axes in Nasr City and Heliopolis, which have resulted in putting an end to decades-long congestion in the two neighborhoods.
