President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received a phone call from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, during which the two presidents exchanged greetings on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, expressing their wishes for it to bring goodness, blessings, and prosperity to the Arab and Islamic nations.

The call also addressed the latest regional developments, with an exchange of views on the dangers of the current escalation in the region and the necessity of avoiding the expansion of conflict and maintaining regional security and stability.

Both leaders emphasized their firm rejection of attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause or displace Palestinians.

In this context, President el-Sisi affirmed Egypt's continued efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to deliver humanitarian aid sustainably and in quantities that meet the needs of the Palestinian people.

He also reiterated the push towards implementing a two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
