President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, according to official Presidential spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.

During the call, both leaders discussed developments of the Sudanese crisis and coordination of efforts between the two countries in this regard.

On his part, Sunak underlined Egypt's essential role in maintaining peace and security at the regional level, in addition to being one of the most important and active neighboring countries of Sudan, where the current crisis represents a serious challenge to stability in the entire region.

Moreover, they expressed deep concern over the escalation of violence and fighting in Sudan, which expose civilians to great and growing risks, while addressing efforts to evacuate the nationals of the two countries from Sudan.

Furthemore, Sisi reviewed Egypt's efforts to encourage all parties to reach a ceasefire and put an end to the suffering of the Sudanese people, stressing the need to positively deal with all efforts to reach calm and activate dialogue and the political track, with the aim of sparing Sudan the catastrophic consequences of this conflict on its stability and capabilities.
