Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received DR Congo President Felix Tshisekedi, at El-Etehadiya palace.
This is considered the first official visit by Tshisekedi to Egypt.
The two presidents held an extended session of bilateral talks, in the presence of delegations from both countries.
At a press conference following talks, Sisi welcomed his Congolese counterpart, praising common historic ties between both countries since national liberation in the 20th century.
Moreover, the Egyptian President affirmed that their talks were 'fruitful and constructive', as they exchanged views on various issues, as well as discussing ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between Egypt and DR Congo.
In addition, both leaders agreed to further push forward ties mutual visits, activating joint business committee, exchanging experiences, and enhancing bilateral cooperation in the water resource field.
Concerning Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Sisi stressed that the Nile River is 'a source of cooperation and development'.
They also discussed GERD developments with the aim of reaching a binding agreement between all parties.
