President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Saturday with Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning, Major General Ehab El-Far, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, and Major General Essam Gamal, Director of Water Management at the Engineering Authority.
“The meeting dealt with preparations for water pumping to stations from Bahr Al-Baqar Drain for cultivation and land reclamation in North and Central Sinai, in cooperation with major international specialized companies with long-standing experience working in Egypt,” said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
“President Sisi affirmed the principle of localizing this industry locally and transferring technology as a fixed approach that Cairo seeks to achieve in coordination with foreign companies operating in Egypt in various fields,” added Rady.
Sisi stressed to the heads of international companies the wide scope currently available in Egypt for the activities of these companies, and the huge and varied prospects and opportunities provided by major development projects for investment and work whether related to reclamation of agricultural lands and the transfer of water from sewage and treatment plants or other projects.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of the boards of directors and agents of each of the German KSB Company, Hungarian Janz, Czech sigma, and Japanese Torishima.
In a different meeting, today, with the presidential adviser for Urban Planning, and the chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Sisi followed up on the construction and engineering position of a number of national projects, especially in the New Administrative Capital and its facilities, as well as the progress of some national construction projects, most notably the executive position of the infrastructure for land reclamation and cultivation in Central and North Sinai.
He also discussed the elopements of the network of roads and axes nationwide, including the final stages of developing roads and corridors in east Cairo with its various neighborhoods, as well as within Greater Cairo.
In this regard, the president called for the continuation of coordination between the various state agencies to accelerate the implementation steps of the national project for the development of Central and North Sinai, taking into account its strategic impact on the state's efforts in the comprehensive development of the region, especially with regard to land reclamation and the transfer of irrigation water from the west of the Suez Canal to the targeted areas inside Sinai.
