Sisi Stresses Egypt's Aspiration to Develop Cooperation with Oman

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting Tuesday in Muscat with His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister of Oman, and discussed ways to foster bilateral relations at various levels.

"Sisi thanked the Omani deputy premier for the warm reception, expressing his appreciation for the close and historical relations that bring together the two brotherly countries at the official and popular levels," said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

In this regard, Sisi stressed Egypt's aspiration to develop cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman to a sustainable framework of economic integration and strategic cooperation, especially in light of the great challenges and the security, economic and social crises that plague the region.

On his part, the Omani Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the President as a dear guest of Oman, affirming the depth of the ties that unite the two brotherly countries, and his country's keenness to raise cooperation with Egypt to the level of strategic partnership, for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.

The Omani official stressed that Egypt is a cornerstone for maintaining regional security and stability and restoring regional balance, in light of Cairo's central importance regionally and internationally.

He also expressed his country’s aspiration to benefit from the successful Egyptian experience in implementing development projects and comprehensive economic reforms, which contributed to the steadfastness of the Egyptian economy in the face of various international and regional challenges.

The meeting witnessed a review of ways to advance the solid bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, especially in light of the results emanating from the Joint Business Council and the Egyptian-Omani Joint Committee, which was held in Muscat in January 2022, in addition to consultations on the most prominent regional issues of mutual interest.

It was agreed to intensify coordination and follow-up between the two sides in this regard during the coming period.
