Sisi Stresses 'Deep-rooted' Historic Ties with Turkey

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed his great pleasure in making his first visit to the Republic of Turkey.

In a post on his official social media accounts, President El-Sisi wrote: "I express my great pleasure in my first visit to the Republic of Turkey and my meeting with His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Our two ancient nations share deep-rooted historical and popular ties, as well as strong political relations since the founding of the Republic of Turkey by the founding leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk."

"My visit today, following President Erdoğan's visit to Cairo, reflects our mutual desire to begin a new phase of friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Turkey, based on their pivotal roles in their regional and international surroundings, and in fulfillment of the aspirations and hopes of our two brotherly peoples," he added.
