President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Thursday Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khaled, Commander of the Navy, along with Mr. Peter Lürssen, Owner and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lürssen.
Lürssen is a German shipyard based in Bremen-Vegesack. It designs and constructs yachts, naval ships, and special vessels.
The Spokesman for the Presidency Bassam Rady stated that the meeting witnessed discussions on cooperation frameworks between the Egyptian side and the German company that has deep experiences in the field of shipbuilding of various models, especially with regard to the transfer of shipbuilding technology in cooperation with the shipyards of the Navy and the companies of the Marine Industries Authority.

The meeting also touched on raising the capabilities of the Egyptian cadres in these fields in accordance with international standards and quality requirements, for the general benefit of the Egyptian Navy in cooperation with one of the largest ship fortresses in the world, which owns eight shipbuilding arsenals in Germany and the world.
Lürssen has recently won a contract to manufacture naval destroyers German with a load of 11 thousand tons.
In this regard, Sisi stressed the importance of cooperation with the German company in view of the global professional reputation it enjoys in the field of shipbuilding.
On his part, the chairman of the Lürssen Company praised Egypt's security, stability, and promising opportunities for direct investment, especially with the improvement of the investment climate, and the infrastructure development efforts undertaken by the Egyptian government.
