President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued a Decree extending the appointment of Osama Mounir Mohamed Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), for one year.

The decree was published in the Official Gazette.

In August 2019, President Sisi issued a decision appointing Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie as head of the SCA, succeeding Lieutenant-General Mohab Mamish.

Rabie was a deputy for Mamish, who assumed the presidency of the authority in August 2012 and was a chairman during the operations of digging and dredging the new Suez Canal until its opening to international navigation in August 2015.
