Sisi, Putin Discuss Bilateral Relations, Regional Issues

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed bilateral relations, El-Dabaa nuclear plant and Moscow's projects in Port Said, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

"Sisi received a phone call from Putin on Monday," Rady said.

Sisi and Putin discussed boosting bilateral relations issues, notably cooperation in the economic, industrial, and energy fields.

The two presidents also reviewed work progress in El Dabaa nuclear power plant as well as the establishment of the Russian Industrial Zone East of Port Said.

Putin stressed his country’s commitment to further advancing the fruitful and firm cooperation between the two countries. He also underlined the importance he places on the regular coordination and consultations with his Egyptian counterpart with regard to various regional and international issues.

On his part, the Egyptian President valued the longstanding partnership relations with Russia which was culminated in the conclusion of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between the two countries.

"This agreement opened up new prospects for bilateral cooperation in a multitude of areas and joint ventures in addition to those currently underway," he manifested during the call.

Moreover, both leaders discussed developments in the most important regional and international dossiers. The Russian president reiterated his appreciation for Sisi’s personal efforts in this regard.

Putin affirmed that Sisi's endeavors helped enhance the political trajectories for the settlement of crises in the region. He added that this reinforced Egypt’s role as a fulcrum to preserve peace and stability in its regional milieu.

Furthermore, the Russian President reiterated Russia’s commitment to further advancing cooperation and intensive coordination between the two countries in this regard.
