President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi praised the strategic partnership between Egypt and Hungary, which is based on deep-rooted historical relations between the two friendly nations.
He emphasized the mutual commitment to advancing this partnership across various fields, including parliamentary cooperation, in a way that serves the common interests of both countries.
This came during President El-Sisi’s meeting today, Sunday, with the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, László Kövér, in the presence of Egypt’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Dr. Hanafy El Gebaly.
At the outset of the meeting, President Sisi welcomed the Hungarian Speaker, commending the growing momentum of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The President underlined the important role of both parliaments in strengthening dialogue and coordination on issues of mutual concern and supporting efforts to achieve shared interests, particularly in enhancing economic cooperation between Egypt and Hungary.
President Sisi also praised Hungary’s support for Egypt within various European Union institutions, lauding the ongoing understanding and coordination between the leaderships of the two countries, founded on mutual respect and shared interests.
Moreover, Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need to intensify efforts to resume the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, facilitate the exchange of hostages and detainees, and ensure the delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to address the catastrophic situation facing Palestinians in Gaza.
For his part, the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s vital role in promoting regional security and stability.
He reaffirmed Hungary’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Egypt at all levels, recognizing Egypt as a key partner for Hungary and the European Union in the Middle East.
He also praised Egypt’s pivotal role in addressing regional issues impacting European security, particularly in restoring calm, preventing the expansion of regional conflicts, and combating illegal migration and terrorism.
