On Monday, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouli and Minister of Justice Omar Marwan, according to the Presidency's spokesman Bassam Rady.

In a statement, the spokesman said that President Sisi was briefed on the efforts made to facilitate procedures for citizens as regards property registration, directing the officials concerned to postpone the implementation of law no. 186/2020, which amends the Real Estate Registration Law, for a transitional period of not less than two years.

The postponement comes with a view to providing the opportunity and time for community dialogue, with the government preparing a bill that goes in line with that delay, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

President Sisi also ordered the government that a fixed, reduced, and clear fee be collected for property registration during that transitional period according to the type of property and its location.

Those fees shall replace the current Real Estate Disposal Tax, the spokesman noted.

"The meeting also touched on the government efforts to upgrade the public notary system," Rady noted.

During the talks, they also reviewed the outcome of linking courts with police facilities as regards considering the extension of custody remotely, with President Sisi directing the officials concerned to expand the application of this system and generalize it to other governorates in the coming stage.

Sisi said this system goes in line with the efforts made to develop the headquarters of courts nationwide.

In the same regard, President Sisi directed the government to consider the establishment of a city for justice in the New Administrative Capital; to include a central complex for courts, a center for studies, and other related service facilities.
