President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit held in Kazan, Russia.
The official Presidential Spokesman stated that Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast position in support of the Palestinian Authority and the need to unite efforts to preserve the Palestinian people's resources and their legitimate rights to establish their state in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions. Egypt also rejects any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
The spokesperson added that the two presidents discussed efforts to stop the Israeli war on the Palestinian people in Gaza and the violations in the West Bank.
Moreover, they emphasized the importance of the international community taking a clear and decisive stance against these practices to end the humanitarian catastrophe affecting the Palestinian citizens in the region.
On his part, Abbas expressed his appreciation to President El-Sisi for Egypt's continuous and tireless efforts to support the rights of the Palestinian people, and for the initiatives undertaken by Egypt at various levels to back the Palestinian cause.
