Today, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, and other head of ministries to discuss some national projects.
The spokesman of presidency, Bassam Rady stated that, in the meeting, the president was briefed on the national project of the "New Egyptian Countryside Development" for land reclamation, and establishing sustainable societies.
The project mainly aims to make agriculture the main pillar for development in these societies, in parallel with other accompanying investments in sectors Industry and services.
Sisi followed up the current executive position of the "One and a half million acres" project, including its infrastructure, electricity networks, and water stations, in all of the various sites of the project; Minya, Toshka, Al Mugharah, Siwa, Farafra and Al-Tour.
Sisi directed concerned officials to complete of the infrastructure works in coordination with all concerned agencies, especially those related to paving roads, electrical supply works, developing wells.
The president urged the officials to finalize the studies of water quality, as well as developing agricultural drainage for targeted lands, establishing service areas, and providing facilities to finance medium and small projects.
He also encouraged them to prepare a comprehensive marketing study for the project, in support of the state’s general plan to expand the area of new societies and agricultural lands nationwide.
He said that such program would contribute to providing decent job opportunities for Egyptian youth through agricultural production, marketing, manufacturing and services projects.
