President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Manfred Weber, leader of the European People's Party (EPP), the largest political group in the European Parliament, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration.
Official Presidential Spokesman stated that the meeting underscored the deep Egypt-European relations, recently solidified by the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Egypt and the European Union. This partnership reflects the enduring common interests shared by both sides.
On his part, EPP leader expressed Europe’s high regard for Egypt and emphasized his party’s commitment to furthering cooperation across all fields. He highlighted the expanding economic relations and the growth of European investments in Egypt as a mutual benefit to the development efforts taking place in Egypt, serving the interests of both sides.
The meeting also touched on regional developments, with the European side commending Egypt's firm and consistent role in supporting regional stability and its ongoing efforts to resolve existing crises in the region.
In this regard, Sisi stressed the importance of combined international efforts, including from the European Union, to push strongly toward de-escalation and a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, halting attacks in the West Bank, and ensuring the immediate and full implementation of humanitarian aid.
Moreover, he reaffirmed that a two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state based on international legitimacy, remains the pathway to achieving peace and stability in the region.
