Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with Kristalina Georgieva on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Africa–France Summit currently taking place in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to the Egyptian presidency, President Sisi expressed Egypt’s appreciation for its ongoing cooperation with the International Monetary Fund in implementing the country’s economic reform program.
The discussions focused on Egypt’s economic reform efforts and the structural measures aimed at achieving sustainable and comprehensive development despite growing international and regional economic pressures.
President Sisi welcomed the successful completion of the fifth and sixth reviews of Egypt’s IMF-supported reform program, which were approved by the IMF Executive Board in February.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to continuing economic reforms and maintaining fiscal and structural adjustment measures, despite ongoing regional tensions and global economic challenges affecting energy markets, trade flows, and investment conditions.
The meeting also highlighted continued coordination between Egypt and the IMF regarding policies designed to strengthen economic resilience, support growth, and improve macroeconomic stability.
