President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met, this morning, chief executive of BP, Bernard Looney, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla.
This came during the activities of the 4th edition of Egypt’s International Petroleum show “EGYPS 2020”.
"During the meeting, the president expressed Egypt's appreciation for the volume of the British company's activities and investments in Egypt as it contributed greatly to exploration and production of gas and oil," Egypt's presidential spokesman said.
The president also stressed that Egypt attaches top priority to the private sector’s participation in the energy field, pointing out to the importance of increasing the company's successful programs in terms of training and skills development.
On his part, the chief executive officer of BP stressed that Egypt was and will remain a strategic partner of BP, praising the remarkable development that Egypt has achieved in the field of energy, as well as in the state infrastructure in general and the oil and gas sector in particular.
“EGYPS 2020” Exhibition
This exhibition is considered the most prominent platform in the energy field in North Africa and the Mediterranean region.
This year’s edition attracts more than 270 speakers from industry experts locally and internationally.
At least 15 international oil companies and more than 450 exhibitors take part in the event.
The US and France, the UK, Germany, China, Canada, Norway, India, the UAE, Spain, Italy, Greece, Scotland, Bahrain, and Cyprus have pavilions at the exhibition.
It also includes a variety of activities, including 36 technical sessions, 10 strategic sessions, 4 seminars.
