Sisi Meets CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk in Denmark

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Robert Mærsk Uggla, Chairman of the Board of Directors of A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, on the sidelines of the President's state visit to Denmark.

The official spokesman for the Presidency Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the Chairman of the Danish company was keen at the beginning of the meeting to thank President El-Sisi for the support provided by the Egyptian government to the company's operations in Egypt, praising Egypt's efforts to attract foreign investments in various sectors, and removing any obstacles facing companies operating in Egypt. He also stressed the company's keenness to enhance its cooperation and consider increasing the volume of its business in Egypt.

On his part, the President valued the existing cooperation with Maersk, stressing Egypt's appreciation for the efforts made by the company to develop some Egyptian container terminals with the aim of transforming them into global container handling terminals in the eastern and southern Mediterranean region.

Sisi also praised the company's projects to produce and supply its ships with green fuel, which contributes to making Egypt a regional center for the company's operations, whether in terms of container trade or clean fuel production.

The official spokesman, added that the meeting discussed ways to develop cooperation between the two sides, and opportunities to enhance the company's investments in Egypt, in a way that achieves mutual interest.
