President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with John Christmann, CEO of the global oil exploration company Apache Corporation, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Karim Badawy. Also attending were Greg McDaniel, Senior Vice President for International Assets at Apache, and the company’s General Manager in Egypt.
Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that President El-Sisi praised Apache’s long-standing success in Egypt, commending the company’s commitment to expanding its operations in accordance with the highest global industry standards.
The President stressed that Apache is one of Egypt’s most important energy partners and the largest American investor in the country, highlighting that the company’s initiatives in Egypt send a strong signal of confidence in the Egyptian economy and help attract further US investment in the energy sector.
Expanding Energy Cooperation
During the meeting, both sides reviewed Apache’s current activities and exploration programs in Egypt, along with its plans to expand and increase production as part of the ongoing partnership in oil and gas exploration.
Christmann expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to meet President El-Sisi once again, reaffirming the strategic importance of Egypt within Apache’s global operations. He added that the company is keen to enhance production levels and capitalize on Egypt’s rich potential for new oil and gas discoveries.
Commitment to Future Exploration
The spokesperson noted that President El-Sisi also discussed the status of Apache’s new exploration program in areas recently awarded to the company in Egypt’s Western Desert.
The President reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all necessary support and facilitation to Apache to ensure the success of its projects, emphasizing the government’s commitment to achieving mutual benefit and sustainable growth.
El-Sisi expressed confidence in Apache’s capabilities and looked forward to intensified exploration and development activities that would strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional energy hub.
