President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed with French President Emmanuel Macron the developments of the situation in Libya, according to Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
“President Sisi made a phone call Wednesday evening with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, and exchanged views and visions on the developments of the situation in Libya,” said Rady.

The Spokesman added that Sisi reviewed the Egyptian efforts to settle the Libyan crisis so as to activate the will of the Libyan people and preserve the country's resources, territorial integrity, and territorial integrity, while at the same time safeguarding Egyptian national security in the western geographical depth.
On his part, the French President lauded the Egyptian efforts to restore security and stability in Libya, in the context of the Cairo Declaration as an extension of the Berlin Conference to settle the Libyan crisis.

Sisi and Macron agreed on the importance of undermining illegal external interventions in the Libyan territories that use armed militias and terrorist organizations in favor of their goals, at the expense of stability in Libya and regional security as a whole.
“The two leaders reiterated the necessity of continuing joint coordination in the coming period between Cairo and Paris to support efforts aiming at settling the crisis in Egypt’s neighbor country,” Rady noted.
