President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that Libya's stability is an integral part of the Egyptian national security, stressing that his country has never and will never tolerate terrorist organizations and their affiliates.

Sisi made these remarks on Tuesday while participating in a virtual meeting of the African Union (AU)  group on Libya to discuss the latest developments in the Libyan crisis and ways to enhance the efforts of African countries to settle the conflict between the two Libyan parties.

Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said that President Sisi stressed during his speech on Cairo's steadfast stance towards a political solution to the Libyan crisis, while preserving the country's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

The spokesman added that the President reiterated Egypt's rejection of foreign interference in Libya's internal affairs.

The president called on African countries to pay more attention to combating terrorism in the North African country as it constitutes a threat to the stability and security of the countries neighboring Libya and the African continent as a whole.

Sisi added that Egypt supports the efforts of the AU to solve the Libyan crisis, stressing the importance of achieving complementarity and coordination between the Union, the League of Arab States (AL) and the United Nations (UN) in this regard.
