He noted that the number of Belarus tourists that visited Egypt over the past two years hit 212,000, almost increased fivefold the number in 2016.

As for trade exchange between the two countries, he said it reached $108 million, at a 10.8 percent rise in comparison with 2017. The Egyptian exports to Belarus hit $ 25 million, he added.

According to him, the volume of trade exchange in January and February 2019 hit $ 24.2 million, with the Egyptian exports standing at $ 9.5 million.

The second leg of Sisi’s European tour will be Bucharest where he will be convened with the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and heads of the two houses of the parliament.

“Cooperation in fields of high education and scientific research will be considered in the talks,” Rady noted.

On Feb. 24, Sisi received President Iohannis in Sharm El Sheikh, where the first Arab League-European Union summit took place.

Sisi said Egypt looks forward to enhancing cooperation with Romania in all fields.

He pointed out that Egypt seeks to have constant coordination and consultation with Romania on issues of mutual interest, particularly in the current period in light of Egypt’s chairmanship of the African Union and Romania’s presidency of the European Union.

On his part, Iohannis hailed Sisi’s efforts on internal stability, security, economic reform, development and combating terrorism.

"He reiterated that the organization of the summit by Egypt reflects Cairo’s important role in the Middle East and Africa," Rady added.
