President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, in Riyadh on the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic summit.

The meeting witnessed an exchange of views on the latest developments in the military escalation in the Gaza Strip and the deterioration of the security and humanitarian conditions as well as the loss of the lives of many innocent civilians from the brotherly Palestinian people.

The two leaders agreed on the importance of continuing to coordinate the intense efforts of the two countries to push the international community to assume its responsibilities regarding the pursuit of the path of calm and ensuring the delivery of services and humanitarian aid provided to the people of the Gaza Strip, with emphasis on rejecting the exposure of the innocent in the Gaza Strip to collective punishment policies of siege, starvation, or displacement in violation of international obligations under international humanitarian law.

They also reaffirmed Egypt and Jordan's firm position on this issue, stressing that regional stability can only be achieved through the international community's engagement with the Palestinian issue from an integrated perspective that preserves the rights of the Palestinian people.
