President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Jordanian Foreign Minister (FM) Ayman Safadi, in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty and Jordanian Ambassador to Cairo, Amjad Al-Adayleh.
The Jordanian FM conveyed to Sisi the greetings of his brother, King Abdullah II of Jordan, which the President appreciated, affirming Egypt's pride in its historical and close relations with Jordan on both official and popular levels.
The meeting addressed the latest developments regarding Egyptian and Jordanian efforts aimed at de-escalation in the region. Both sides reiterated their firm position on the need for serious international efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.
It was emphasized that an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders is the essential guarantor of lasting peace and stability in the region. Both parties also highlighted the dangers of military escalation, which further complicates the situation and poses serious threats to regional security and the well-being of the people.
