Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi greeted President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr during a Thursday phone call, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
"The Iraqi premier wished Egypt permanent progress and prosperity," Rady added.
For his part, Sisi expressed sincere gratitude for "this fraternal gesture", wishing Iraq and its people all the best, security, and stability.
Earlier, the Egyptian president greeted all Muslims across the world on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
“I greet the Islamic nation and the Egyptian people on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr,” he wrote on his social media platforms.
