President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call, on Saturday, from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Mohamed El-Shennawy, official Presidential spokesperson, said that the call addressed developments regarding the Iranian nuclear file.

Sisi expressed Egypt's deep concern over rising tensions in the region, emphasizing the necessity of avoiding escalation and rejecting military solutions.

Moreover, he stressed that diplomatic solutions are the only and most effective path to resolving the crisis, ensuring the Middle East is spared further tension and instability.

The spokesperson explained that President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to ongoing efforts aimed at bringing the United States and Iran back to the negotiating table to reach a peaceful and comprehensive settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue.

This, he noted, would bolster regional and international stability; a point the President previously emphasized to U.S. President Donald Trump during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the recent Davos Forum.

In this context, Sisi expressed Egypt’s hope that all concerned parties would prioritize dialogue to overcome differences, underlining Egypt’s support for all efforts made in this regard.

For his part, Iranian President expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the positive role Egypt plays in preventing escalation and maintaining regional security and stability.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian affirmed Iran's keenness to enhance political consultation and coordination with Egypt to support regional stability.
