President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call today with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
During the phone call, Sisi expressed Egypt’s firm rejection of the ongoing Israeli escalation against Iran, warning that it poses a serious threat to the security and stability of the Middle East at a time when the region is already facing multiple and worsening crises.
Moreover, Sisi stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire that would pave the way for resuming negotiations aimed at achieving a sustainable peaceful resolution to the crisis.
He emphasized the importance of de-escalation and preventing a further expansion of violence, reiterating that there is no military solution to the conflict.
Furthermore, Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s long-standing position that sustainable stability in the Middle East can only be achieved through the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy.
For his part, Iranian President expressed his gratitude to Sisi and praised Egypt’s wise and balanced stance aimed at restoring regional stability and sparing the bloodshed of all parties.
He also confirmed Iran’s alignment with Egypt’s position on the urgent need to reach a just, comprehensive, and final resolution to the Palestinian issue.
