President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected on Sunday ongoing development work in the slum area of Ezbet el Haggana in east Cairo.
During his tour, the president, accompanied by a host of ministers and officials, was briefed on the plan and efforts to upgrade and develop this uncharted heavily populated region, according to the Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady in a statement.

Sisi ordered officials to keep working for developing unsafe slum areas and other unplanned areas nationwide to link these areas to the national road network, improve the living standards of their inhabitants and ensure that they have adequate access to basic services.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and the ministers of electricity, petroleum and mineral resources, irrigation, education, planning and economic development, housing, local development, social solidarity, agriculture, trade and industry accompanied the president during his tour along with the presidential advisors for urban planning and financial affairs and the head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.
