President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi.

The two leaders exchanged views on the latest developments of the Israeli military operations in Gaza Strip, and the danger of the current escalation, both for its severe impact on the lives of civilians, and for the threat it poses to the security of the entire region.

During the phone call, Sisi stressed that Egypt will continue its efforts to coordinate regional and international efforts to push for a ceasefire.

He warned of the serious humanitarian and security implications of the ground attack on the Gaza Strip, affirming the need for unified international action to find an immediate solution at the diplomatic level.

In the same context, Sisi noted that this solution should include the immediate implementation of a humanitarian ceasefire that would protect the lives of civilians and allow the immediate and unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip, in line with the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on this matter, which was issued on the evening of October 27, 2023.

The two leaders also affirmed their satisfaction with the distinguished level of bilateral relations and strategic partnership between Egypt and India, and their determination to continue leading the institutions of the two countries towards further strengthening of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries.
