Sisi stressed that Egypt seeks to enhance Apache’s activities and investments in the country so as to boost explorations in the field of gas and oil and to maximize the state’s benefit from its potential resources for the benefit of current and future generations.

This comes within the framework of the profound cooperation and strategic partnership relations that extend between Egypt and the United States in all fields.

It also reviewed the company’s current activities and targeted investment plans during the coming few years in the areas of petroleum search and exploration in Egypt.

Sisi welcomed BP’s CEO and reiterated that Egypt supports and welcomes progress in the cooperation between the two sides, given the company’s longstanding history and previous activities in Egypt, confirming that this shall boost Egypt’s endeavors to become a regional hub for energy trading.

President El-Sisi stressed the need to continue coordination and cooperation with the British company and to remove any impediments facing its work so as to further advance search and exploration efforts as well as oil production in Egypt.

The president underscored the strategic cooperation relations and outstanding partnership between Egypt and all British companies, within the framework of the two countries’ distinct relations.

BP’s CEO, Looney, lauded Sisi’s wise leadership and ambitious vision, which have led Egypt to become a successful economic and developmental model, at both the regional and international levels.
