President Abdel Fattah El Sisi honored Wednesday the winners of the global competition for memorizing the Holy Quran, as part of the activities of the Ministry of Endowments’ celebration on the occasion of Laylat al-Qadr.
Sisi took part in the Ministry of Endowments' celebration of “Laylat al-Qadr” at Al-Manara Center for International Conferences in the Fifth Settlement in New Cairo.
The ceremony was attended by the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hanafi Gebaly, Senate's Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa, Minister of Endowments, and a number of ministers and senior state officials.
Earlier, Sisi inaugurated Wednesday Imam Al-Hussein Mosque, after major renovation works to the mosque and the area surrounding it, including the new lounge of the holy shrine of Imam Al-Hussein.
