Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has lauded the agreement signed between Kenya and Somalia on the normalization of their relations.

The President stressed Egypt's willingness to play any role in enhancing relations between the two African countries.
Kenya and Somalia agreed to restore diplomatic relations that had deteriorated over the disputed ownership of an Indian Ocean territory thought to be rich in hydrocarbons.
Somalia in 2014 sought arbitration from the United Nations International Court of Justice because the East African neighbors claim ownership of a 150,000 square-kilometer area off their coastline. Kenya says it prefers an out-of-court settlement.
Earlier today, President of the German Bundestag Wolfgang Schäuble received Egypt's President who is currently visiting Berlin.
El Sisi received a delegation of the Federation of German Security and Defense Industries, at his residence in Berlin, in the presence of Minister of Military Production Dr. Mohamed El Assar, and Abdel Moneim Al-Tarras, Chairman of the Arab Industrialization Authority.
