Sisi, Guinea-Bissau's Embaló Discuss Bilateral Relations

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Saturday evening a phone call from the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embaló, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

Embaló stressed, during the call, his country's keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields. 

He also affirmed Guinea-Bissau's great appreciation for Egypt and its leading role in the African continent towards meeting the aspirations of its people in development and prosperity, especially in light of its effective contribution to promote joint African action efforts, with regard to enhancing intra-African trade and investments, and maintaining continental peace and security.

“For his part, Sisi praised the historical relations between the two countries, stressing Egypt's support for Guinea-Bissau in all fields to meet the aspirations of its brotherly people towards development and prosperity,” said Rady.

The contact also touched on ways to strengthen bilateral relations. Hence, the two leaders agreed to activate joint cooperation frameworks at various levels, work to improve the rates of trade exchange between the two countries and support the development and building of capabilities and cadres. 

In this context, Sisi offered support for the brothers in Guinea-Bissau, in order to enable them to lay the foundations of state institutions and face regional security challenges.
