Sisi Greets Pope Tawadros II, Egypt's Copts on Easter Day

On the occasion of the Easter Sunday Day, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent a congratulatory telegram on Saturday to Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria & Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, on the occasion of Easter Day, according to Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Bassam Rady.

“President Sisi praised the good and sincere bonds and feelings of all Egyptian people, Muslims and Christians, calling on God Almighty in this delicate circumstance that the world is going through to preserve Egypt and take care of its great people and protect them and all the peoples of the world from all harm and misfortune,” Rady said.

The official spokesman noted that Sisi also sent a telegram of congratulations to the Christian expatriates of Egypt across the world. His Excellency expressed his wishes for success to our beloved Egypt with more good and development.

On Friday, on the occasion of the celebration of the Easter Sunday, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik sent a congratulatory message to Pope Tawadros II.

“With sincere feelings of love and peace and sincere expressions of appreciation and respect, it is my pleasure and the Police Authority’s to send to your holiness and Christian brothers sincere congratulations and sincere wishes on the occasion of the glorious Easter Sunday,” the letter read.

The Minister of the Interior also sent a telegram of congratulations to Anba Ibrahim Ishaq Sedrak, Patriarch of the Coptic Catholic community in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

“With feelings of love and peace, it is good for me and the police to express to you and the Coptic Catholic community in all parts of the country sincere congratulations and sincere wishes on the occasion of the glorious Eastern Day. May God Almighty glorify our glory over our unity and interdependence,” the message read.

Tawfik also sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Dr. Pastor Andre Zaki, the head of the evangelical community in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
