President Abdel Fattah El sisi greeted Egyptians on the holy months of Ramadan, saying that Ramadan 2020 comes amid unprecedented circumstances.

“The blessed month of Ramadan this year comes amid a unique state of solidarity and cohesion which we all live in. We pray to Allah to preserve our country and its great people and give us the ability to confront dangers and challenges,” Sisi posted on his official Facebook and Twitter accounts late Thursday.

“May Allah protect Egypt, Egyptians and all peoples on earth,” Sisi added.

In the same regard, "President Sisi extended his greetings to the Egyptian expats on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar, when Muslims worldwide fast from dusk to dawn," Egypt’s state-owned news agency MENA reported on Thursday.

The President’s greeting cable was published on social media pages of the Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad.

President Sisi wished the Egyptians more progress and welfare, praying to God to protect Egypt and the entire world.

A few hours ago, Egypt's First Lady Intisar El-Sisi greeted the Egyptian people for the start of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

On her Facebook page, she wished all the best for Egypt and Egyptians.

On Thursday, the Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said that the night-time curfew will be adjusted during the holy fasting month of Ramadan to curb the coronavirus spread but make it one hour shorter.

In a televised speech, the Premier announced that the curfew will start at 9 p.m. instead of the previous 8 p.m. and run until 6 a.m, adding that the commercial centers, including malls and shops are allowed to open over the whole week until 5:00 pm.

Madbouli pointed out that the Egyptians have to cope with coronavirus impacts via precautionary measures as the disease could exist for a long time, stating that the state is adopting balanced policy between taking preventive measures against coronavirus and allowing the economy and production to continue.
