President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call today from French Presidenf Emmanuel Macron
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, official Presidential spokesperson stated that the call addressed the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and France.
Both leaders affirmed the importance of continuing joint efforts to strengthen all aspects of cooperation and to activate the strategic partnership agreement between the two countries, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment fields.
The spokesperson added that the call also included an exchange of views on regional developments.
In this regard, Sisi reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, secure the release of hostages and detainees, and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid, in light of the worsening humanitarian crisis inside the Strip.
In the same context, President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s firm stance rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land or undermine their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Macron, for his part, expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s endeavors to end the war, stressing the importance of reaching a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, as well as the urgent need to begin reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
Sisi also welcomed France’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine in September 2025, considering it an important step towards ensuring justice for the Palestinian people and enabling them to fully attain their rights.
