Sisi Extends Eid Al-Fitr Greetings to Arab, Muslim Leaders

On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi exchanged greetings with many Arab and Muslim Leaders on Friday. 

The Islamic Eid Al-Fitr is set to start on Sunday, according to the Islamic calendar and lunar circle examined by the 'Ifta' House. 

“Saturday will be the last day of the holy month of Ramadan, thus Sunday will mark the first day of Eid Al Fitr,” Egypt’s Mufti Shawki Allam announced in a statement.

Sunday also marks the first day of Eid Al Fitr in other states such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Kuwait  Iraq.

Sisi has extended Eid greetings with Bahram Salih, President of Iraq; Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the head of Sudan's sovereign council; Mahmoud Abbas, Palestine’s President; Kais Saied, Tunisia’s President; Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of Algeria; Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber, Kuwait’s Emir; Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and King Abdullah II of Jordan.

"In a phone call with Burhan, Sisi also discussed regional issues and bilateral cooperation and consultation between Egypt and Sudan," the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement. 

Sisi and Salih also discussed bilateral relations between Egypt and Iraq; they have agreed to activate the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation and boost the efforts of their joint committee, especially in the economic, medical and security fields.

President Sisi made a phone call with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, to extend Eid Al-Fitr greetings. 

Moreover, the Egyptian president phoned the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. During the phone conversation, both leaders discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interests. 

“All the Arab and Muslim leaders with whom President Sisi talked today wished the Egyptian people permanent stability and progress,” Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said. 

President Sisi also expressed his sincere appreciation for the greetings calls that he received and made, wishing all the Arab and Muslim peoples and governments prosperity and all the best.
