President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt faces no inherent conflict with its Ethiopian brothers, stating that its sole demand is the protection of its water rights in the Nile and reaching a legally binding agreement regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
The President clarified that Egypt’s foreign policy remains firm, based on non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations and avoiding actions that undermine regional stability.
Moreover, he noted that despite the ongoing dispute with Ethiopia, Egypt has never issued threats, driven by its belief that disagreements should be resolved through dialogue and political solutions.
These remarks were made during President Sisi’s meeting today with African ministers, heads of delegations, and representatives of the African Union Commission and regional blocs participating in the second ministerial conference of the "Russia-Africa Partnership Forum" hosted by Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates.
Furthermore, Sisi stressed the vital importance of robust infrastructure in Africa as a cornerstone for achieving stability, reducing conflicts, and driving progress.
He also asserted that such development provides hope for the people, reiterating that military actions are not a solution to crises; rather, political solutions remain the ideal path forward.
