Sisi: Egypt Keen to Turn Old Vehicles into Natural Gas-Powered Ones

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Monday that Egypt pays great attention to the initiative of replacing old vehicles with new natural gas-operated ones because of its fruitful revenues for the citizens.

Sisi was speaking during his meeting with representatives of major companies partaking in the national initiative in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, ministers of industry and trade, finance, local development, transport, and petroleum, Presidential Adviser for Financial Affairs Mohamed Amin.

Under this initiative, old vehicles will be replaced with new ones, using natural gas with financing facilities and low interest.

"The meeting touched on cooperation between automotive makers, who locally manufacture cars and government bodies," Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The president noted that the state launched the initiative according to well-integrated studies after setting up all the infrastructure required to render the initiative successful.

Meanwhile, the representatives said they looking forward to effectively cooperating with the concerned government bodies to offer the best offers and models in line with the highest standards.
