President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Tuesday with the Supreme Council of Universities at Kafr El-Sheikh University and stressed the State's full support for the university system in appreciation of its important role.
"The President also stressed that distinguished and advanced university education is key to progress that leads to a better future," said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
The President also directed the Supreme Council of Universities to:
- Strengthen mechanisms for sponsoring and supporting talented and outstanding students. The aim is to build a generation of distinguished youth who are capable of making innovative contributions to the State’s sustainable development process and to consolidate knowledge, innovation, and creativity in society.
- Support the process of linking the scientific research system and specialized research centers to the higher education sector and provide all facilities for conducting innovative research and studies in order to participate in devising scientific solutions to the challenges facing the Egyptian state and national development projects in all fields.
- Develop activities in universities so as to build students’ character, foster their awareness and realistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities in Egypt as a pivotal issue requiring regular awareness-raising.
On their part, the members of the Supreme Council of Universities expressed their honor to meet the President. They also showed their appreciation for His Excellency’s keenness to enhance the role of Egyptian universities in qualifying young cadres to compete in the labor market, meet community needs, and achieve comprehensive development plans.
