Sisi Discusses Libya, Bilateral Relations with EU's Borrell

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Thursday, Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policies and Vice President of the European Commission, in the presence of Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Christian Berger, Ambassador of the European Union in Cairo, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

Rady stated that the meeting tackled various aspects of cooperation and mutual dialogue between Egypt and the European Union in all political, economic, and security fields, in addition to efforts to settle the Libyan crisis, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, efforts to combat terrorism, the peace process in the Middle East and the issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

It is his first visit to the country since taking office and an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and the EU-Egypt partnership, as well as exchange on regional issues, notably Libya, the Middle East Peace Process, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, according to the European Commission’s statement.After Meeting Sisi, HR/VP: Egypt, EU Are Strong Partners
