On Tuesday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated his new Zambian counterpart Hichilema on his latest victory in presidential elections.
Sisi's congratulations came during a phone call between the two leaders according to the Presidency Spokesperson Ambassador Bassam Rady.
During the phone call, the President asserted Egypt's keenness in supporting Zambia through deepening the bilateral ties between both states in fields of investments, and trade which will back Zambia's development.
He also affirmed the strength of Egyptian-Zambian ties that is reflected in exchanged visits between the two states' officials, in addition to praising Zambia's role in the African south.
On his side, President Hichilema expressed his gratitude to President Sisi's congratulations, hailing the progression experienced in Egyptian-Zambian relations.
Moreover, he expressed his appreciation to Egypt and its people, in addition, he looks forward to Egypt's support to his state to reach the wished development in the light of the existed bilateral cooperation between both countries.
Finally, the Zambian President praised Egypt's support to his country during the COVID-19 crisis. Hichilema expressed his country's interest in attracting Egyptian investments in various fields such as energy, agriculture, information technology, health, and fishing.
