President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call, on Sunday, with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, Official Presidential Spokesman stated that President El-Sisi extended his congratulations to the Congolese President on his victory in a new presidential term following the elections held in March 2026.
Moreover, Sisi noted that this victory reflects the confidence of the Congolese people in his leadership to continue working toward development and prosperity.
The Spokesman added that Sisi expressed Egypt's aspiration to continue joint work with the Republic of the Congo to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two countries, achieving the aspirations and interests of both brotherly nations, alongside continued coordination within regional and international frameworks.
For his part, President Sassou Nguesso expressed his deep appreciation for President Sisi’s congratulations, emphasizing his country's commitment to further developing relations with Egypt across various fields and praising the fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples.
The Spokesman further explained that the two presidents discussed several regional and international issues.
They also emphasized the necessity of resolving conflicts facing some African nations through peaceful means to ensure the protection of their peoples' resources, respect for their sovereignty, and the creation of an environment conducive to progress and prosperity.
