Sisi Congratulates Chinese President Xi Jinping on Re-election as Country's Leader

On Sunday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent a congratulatory cable to Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, for being re-elected General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for a third term.

In the cable, President Sisi expressed his aspiration for enhancing joint cooperation with President Xi Jinping within the framework of the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and China, and push them to broader horizons, in a manner that achieves the interests of the two friendly countries.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Sunday re-elected Xi Jinping as general secretary for a third five-year term.

The vote took place at the first plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to retain his posts as the head of state and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China.
