President Abdel Fattah El Sisi made the first phone call this morning, Monday, with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on the occasion of assuming his duties, stressing Egypt's support for all efforts to reach a just and lasting solution between the Palestinians and Israelis.
"During the phone call, Sisi stressed Egypt's support for all efforts to reach a just and lasting solution between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, in order to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East," said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
Rady added that the Egyptian President also affirmed the importance of preventing the escalation of tension between the Palestinians and Israelis, as well as the importance of supporting Egyptian efforts for reconstruction in the Palestinian territories, as well as the development of bilateral relations.
On his part, Israel's Bennett expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Egypt to achieve security and stability in the region, its recent ceasefire agreement, and its sponsorship of prisoner exchange negotiations.
Moreover, he praised the outcomes achieved since the two countries signed the peace agreement until now under the US auspices.
