Sisi, Bahrain's King Discuss Bilateral Relations

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received a call from the King of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Wednesday and tackled regional issues of common interest, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady. 

“During the call, the two leaders exchanged views on the developments of a number of regional issues of mutual concern ”, said Rady.

On his part, the Bahraini king expressed his country’s deep appreciation for Egypt’s efforts, led by President Al-Sisi, in the regional and Arab arena to consolidate the foundations of regional and international peace and security.

There was consensus on the significance of coordinating efforts in facing the challenges the region is witnessing, in order to preserve Arab national security.

"Issues of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Bahrain were also discussed," the spokesman added.

Meanwhile, King Hamad lauded the prominent and brotherly relations between the two countries, within the framework of the close bonds that unite the two brotherly peoples.

The Bahraini king also voiced Bahrain's keenness to strengthen the existing framework of cooperation with Egypt.

Moreover, Al-Sisi affirmed that Egypt holds in high regard the close ties that the two countries and peoples share, deriving strength and consolidation from their historical relations as well as their faith in unified goal and destiny.

The President also asserted the continuation of advancing and strengthening mechanisms of mutual consultation and coordination on all issues and successive developments in the Arab region, within the framework of the unwavering pillars of Egyptian policy that consider Gulf security an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
